Which phone or OS versions are required for the alerting app?

For the alerting app to function reliably, one of the prerequisites is to have an updated phone operating system. 

For Apple / iOS users, the minimum version is iOS 13, and recommended version is 17. 

For Android users, the minimum version is Android 8.0 Oreo and we target Android 13 Tiramisu. 

Specific Android support

• Android does not support opening the app or responding to an incident without unlocking the phone first.
• Android does not have the concept of ‘critical push notifications’ like Apple does. Instead, the app boosts volume to the maximum for every alert.

While we strive to support as many phone and OS platforms as possible, we cannot guarantee the app works reliably on all devices at all times. Especially when alerting on your own personal device, ensure you test this regularly.
