In order to create an incident in FireServiceRota the alerting module has to be active in the stations and only a user with Control Room Operator, Supervisor or Owner rights can create a new alert.
There are two ways to create an alert:
1. In the station dropdown select INCIDENTS and then select the red NEW ALERT button.
2. Only if you have Control Room Operator rights in the menu bar there is an red ALERT button which will take you to the New Alert page.
This is the New Alert page. Next you will have to fill out the information required.
- Alert text (required): this is the text that user will receive as a notification on their devices.
- Activity Type: this is used for administrative purposes and they need to be set up on a regional level.
- Backup alerting: this is disabled by default. If it is enabled user will get a notification through every possible channel (push notification, SMS, smart pager) regardless of their availability and communication settings.
- Location: this will be shown in the station dashboard and in the primary alerting app.
- Prio: this is only used for administrative purposes.
- Appliance list (required): here you will be able to select which appliance in which station should be alerted.
