Make sure you add a shift pattern for one user who will serve as an example to save the pattern.
For example, here we make sure that we have a full tour of a 2-2-4 pattern for Anthony, who is in Blue Watch.
Then, go to the Rota menu item and then select "Duty Template Planning"
Here we have the option to assign a pattern or create a new template. Go to the "Duty Pattern" tab.
Now here you can assign a name to your pattern and select the example user for which you already saved one full tour of the pattern. Select the dates that include the tour you planned for this user.
In case your pattern includes specific codes, please add them.
Aligned with start of planning period should remained unchecked if you'd like the pattern to catch up o where it is when you assign it to someone.
So for example, in this case Blue watch was starting tour on Jun 17th, so if you add someone to Blue watch on June 20th if the Blue Watch pattern was saved without this option checked, then he will catch up t where Blue watch is, and on June 20th he will start with a night shift following 4 days off and continue with Blue Watch pattern.
If this pattern is saved with the "Aligned with start of planning period" checked, then with the example above, this user will start its tour on June 20th, with 2 day shifts, then 2 night and then 4 days off.
