What is the iOS Alerting App?

Developing this app exclusively for iOS allows us to provide new features to increase the reliability of delivery for notifications. One of these iOS features is to break through any silence lock, much like the 'NL Alert' push notifications.

 

The iOS Alerting App requires an iPhone with iOS 13.0 or superior.

 

Why only alerting?

By splitting the alerting app from the availability app, we intend to make it more stable. The app is smaller, faster and is less vulnerable to bugs in the availability management part.

 

What features can you expect in the iOS Alerting App?

The App's focus is Incident Alerting and has the following features:

• Logging in to your Brandweerrooster or FireServiceRota account (email and password are required)

• Getting incident alert notifications. These notifications break through an iPhone's silent lock.

• Responding to an incident through the App or Push Notifications.

• Consulting details for the most recent incidents, including other responders and the incident location.

 

 

Can I have this app and FireServiceRota / Brandweerrooster V3 installed at the same time?

Yes, but we should prevent double push notifications (one for each app). In Brandweerrooster V3 you can now find a setting to turn Alert notifications off for just that app.
